This week I’ve blown the dust off my folders and notebooks and returned to the HTTS Walkthrough.
A pleasant surprise awaited me: I’d already called down lightning and have three ideas for three short stories; all romance with a hint of mystery.
Ideas include: Gardening, an unappreciative boyfriend (he’s a louse!), an old pre-first world war wedding photo, a Dutchman, Scotland, an abandoned cottage, a cry in the night, a competition win and a handsome but lonely ship’s captain. Please feel free to use any or all of these as writing prompts 🙂
Up to speed with where I left off, I’m now all set for Lesson 4.

Quite where I go from the lightning strike is difficult to know but my Muse assures me she’s working on it 🙂

It’s going ok so far – I’ve been doing some clustering around “issues” (or rather, unformed ideas) and getting interesting insights into what the story wants. My challenge is always taking the amorphous “sense” of the connections in the story and actually making it a story that has characters and action. So I’m looking forward to figuring that stuff out…. like you said, where to go with the lightning strike.
I love working on this stuff, though 🙂

Scotland *happy sigh* I love stories of Scotland. Maybe the abandoned cottage is near the Scottish coast and owned by a handsome but lonely ship’s captain who needs to return to his roots…
